Forest Emerald Dragon WIP

Just thought I'd show everyone a little sneak peak of the bookmarkers I'm working on for this year

The theme is: Gem Stone Dragons, and they'll be featured in a typical "elemental" habitat. This one's going to be an Emerald Dragon, at home in a forest.

I'm not sure if I want to do mixed media for this yet...it's being done on illustration board and while the sky is markers, the trees are gouache. The colouring markers on the illustration board was...a learning experience XD But it did a lovely job.

My idea was to do the sky with markers (since I blend well with them), do most of the background with gouache, and then do the dragons as a combo of markers and pencils, like I usually do for my works. But after toiling with markers on this, I wonder how it's going to be like when I take them to the dragon, as well as the pencils...

But however it turns out, I hope it just turns out looking nice

I won't be posting this again until all three have been coloured, so I can scan them all in at once (I managed to fit three on the 8x10" board).

Illustration board, Micron inking pens, Prismacolour markers, gouache. And painter's tape, to make sure I have nice, clean edges, as well as I don't muck up the bookmarks next to it
