An illuminated piece I did for 
's Birthday, based off of the medieval Panther 
My calligraphy still needs a LOT of work, I already know about that...but I'll get there someday
I do like how the panther turned out in the illuminated capital though And I'm glad she likes the whole piece too
The illumination is based off of a page from the Stowe Breviary, which can be found here:

The animals inside the capital letter, and the dragon, were improvised
9x12" hotpress watercolour paper, 23.75k genuine gold leaf, gouache.
