When my parents would visit, my dad would have a deck of cards here at the house because he liked playing Solitaire. Since his passing, the cards had been pretty much left untouched. Since I don't play cards that much anymore (I have Solitaire on my computer anyways), I thought I would "recycle" them into tablet weaving cards.

I made a template out of bristol board and measured out where the holes would be. Then I just placed the template over each card and marked where it would be cropped and where to punch the holes.

They work like a charm :) And at least they're getting some use out of them too :)

Tablet weaving is a type of weaving, and you can make the cards out of pretty much anything - I've seen them made from wood, bone, and the playing cards :) The common ones have 4 holes in them, and you pretty much thread them according to the pattern.

They have some videos on Youtube if you'd like to see it in action, just type in "tablet weaving" or "card weaving" in the search on there :)

you're very welcome. I think it's a nice and low cost alternative to the wooden cards.
I myself also made weaving cards of old playing cards :)
